Your 6th wedding anniversary is traditionally celebrated with iron or candy so what better for your gift than one that combines the two!? Waffle Iron Anniversary gifts!
Sounds a bit mad but what do you cook your waffles on? A waffle iron! What better way to wake up on your 6th anniversary, than to the smell of waffles cooking for you? Yum.
The very cute part is that you can make heart shape waffles, maybe one step too far for the more traditional of you who want your waffles square but it would add to the occasion. Plus you can have heart shape waffles every day of the next year if you want to!
You will need to make your waffle batter mix to put into your waffle iron, but don't worry it doesn't take much time, probably about 5 minutes tops!
Your ingredients are;
1 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
1/2 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of teaspoon salt
plus a few drops of vanilla extract.
These quantities should make enough for 3 of you - we know there are only the 2 of you but this is just incase you are feeling a bit hungry! And incase you burn a couple!
Beat the eggs until they are fluffy and then add all of the other ingredients until you have a thick cream consistency.
Now pour the batter into your hot waffle iron, be careful not to put to much in as otherwise it leaks out the side! And the last thing you want to be doing on the morning of your 6th wedding anniversary is cleaning up!
You can make your batter the night before and leave it covered in the fridge until you need it - just make sure you mix it up again otherwise the flour sinks to the bottom.
Cook your batter until it is golden brown.
