We have been invited to a friends 25th wedding anniversary and we know that the 25th is usually silver but our friends don't like silver - any suggestions? Their family has bought them a trip to Ireland as their wedding anniversary present.

Hi Dawn
Don't feel you have to buy an anniversary present from the anniversary list, most people use it as a guide and although it is nice to receive appropriate gifts from the year there is no point if they won't like them.
You mentioned that they will be visiting Ireland for their anniversary - you could buy travellers cheques or Euros for them to spend while they are away. You could tuck them in a travel wallet or Ireland guidebook. We used the Rough Guide when we went as it listed lots of great restaurants.
If you wanted something more lasting you could look at buying a Silver Anniversary Rose bush or a silver colored plant.
Think about your anniversary couple when you are choosing their gift, what are their interests? or hobbies? Do they love to go out?
You can buy gift vouchers for almost anything so if you are still unsure this is normally a good safe option, along with flowers! Check to see if their favorit restaurant would make a gift voucher just for them!
Good luck finding your ideal gift.
