Our Wedding Anniversary Years

Our 2nd Anniversary was spent in Torquay, at the time I worked in hotels and had managed to get us a fantastic deal staying at the Imperial, a beautiful 5 star hotel overlooking the bay. We had dinner at a lovely seafood restaurant down the hill and tried oysters for the first time! And for gifts I definately remember receiving teatowels.

We continued our 3rd wedding anniversary years celebrations the following year in Spain, holidays are a great anniversary gift, and hired a villa with four friends. Lots of fun and mad moments.

Our 4th wedding anniversary we flew out to Zakynthos for a week relaxing in the sun and not doing much at all, those were the days.

In 2002 for our 5th anniversary we treated ourselves to a luxurious 3 week stay in Thailand, 10 days in Bangkok, trying to see everything, followed by 7 days relaxing in Phuket, then back to Bangkok incase we had missed anything! If you ever get the chance to go, GO! We did lots of research online to get some great deals on flights and hotels, our penthouse with jacuzzi in Phuket was fantastic. Managed to bring home some beautiful wooden carvings for our anniversary gifts.

In 2003 we went for our last long haul trip as we had just found out we were expecting our first child. We flew to St Maarten, a small Carribbean island, half French and half Dutch, great food and great partying combined. The first day we hired a car we managed to go all the way round the island but what it lacked in size it definately made up with fun and friendliness! This year mum and dad gave us a great iron barbeque.

By 2004, we were the proud parents to Bobby, we managed to persuade one of his aunts to babysit and we sneaked out to a local restaurant. That evening they had an African night, with great wines and food, we had to get home before dessert but it was our first proper night out in months and was wonderful.

Our 8th wedding anniversary in 2005 was a fun dinner party at home, a good friend of ours did all the cooking and I am sure we had help with the washing up! The fake bronze award for our our Hospitality was appreciated! We were also waiting the arrival of our second child.

2006, 9 wedding anniversary years and with 2 children, we swapped a babysitting favour with a friend and went off to our local Italian restaurant, aaahhh peace!

2007 and our 10 year wedding anniversary, celebrated with all of our friends and family, a great party, lots of yummy gifts in tins and a night away at the same hotel we stayed in on our wedding night, bliss. Same again next year, please!
