Sharing Our Very Unique Anniversary

by Jeff M
(New Orleans)

I had been happily married for almost seven years and my wife and I had a three year old son. Our anniversary was approaching in a little over a month and we made a decision that it was time for us to go away together for a romantic weekend. We decided to go to a bed and breakfast that was a couple of hours away from our home. Our son did not want us to leave him behind but we knew we needed some time for ourselves. We made arrangements for him to stay with his grandparents and started planning our romantic getaway.

`We found a wonderful looking house that used to be a plantation and had a quaint little town nearby and realized that we had found our destination. Because we didn’t seem to ever have enough free time we did not read all of the information about the bed and breakfast we had chosen. This turned out to be a mistake. When we got to the place we discovered that it was famous as one of the most haunted houses in America. It seems that we would not be alone during our second honeymoon. Neither my wife nor I are scared of ghosts so we embraced the destination we had chosen. It did seem strange hearing all sorts of strange sounds throughout the night while we were trying to cuddle with each other and there did seem to be someone who was watching us but we managed to get past it. We returned home on Sunday and were peppered with questions about the bed and breakfast and whether we had a truly romantic weekend. We just let everyone know that it was a truly unique anniversary and one that we will always look back and laugh about.
